    Private Homepage with many information about the Bougainville Copper Project ran from 1966 to 1973. The Bougainville Copper Project was the largest grass roots copper project undertaking in the world to that date.
  • Bougainville Copper Limited (BCL)
    Bougainville Copper Ltd is a copper, gold and silver mining company that operated the Panguna open cut mine in Bougainville. It dominated the economy of the island in the 1970s and 1980s and even played a large part in the economy of Papua New Guinea.
    Bougainville Copper Limited (BCL) has produced copper concentrate containing gold and silver from a mine at Panguna, Bougainville, Papua New Guinea, from 1972 until operations were suspended due to militant activity in May 1989.
